The Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) is a mandatory document for all shipments of cargo destined for Niger. The ECTN must be obtained prior to shipment and must be presented to Nigerian Customs upon arrival of the cargo in Niger. The ECTN is obtained from ectn niger the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) and is valid for a period of six months from the date of issue. The ECTN must be renewed every six months in order to maintain its validity. The ECTN is used by Nigerian Customs to track and trace cargo shipments and to assess duties and taxes due on imported goods. The ECTN niger is also used to monitor and control the importation of prohibited and restricted goods into Niger. The ECTN system was introduced in Nigeria in 2009 in order to streamline the import and export procedures and to reduce the time and cost associated with shipping cargo to and from Nigeria.
